Protein Chocolate Lava Cakes

Nothing speaks love more than a great Chocolate Lava Cake!

Lava cakes are always a great choice when it comes to dessert. It is quick and easy to make, plus really satisfies your sweet cravings! This protein-filled version of your favorite lava cake still has that satisfying melty chocolate core. The trick is in using whey protein powder instead of flour, and coconut sugar instead of white sugar. Try this recipe now and enjoy a treat you won’t believe you’re allowed to eat on a diet!

Ingredients:

½ cup whey protein powder, chocolate flavor
3 tbsp cocoa powder, unsweetened
2 tbsp extra virgin coconut oil
1 whole egg
¼ cup lite coconut milk
2 tbsp coconut sugar
½ cup gluten-free oats

Directions:

  1. Blend all ingredients together using a handheld mixer or food processor.
  2. Once a smooth batter is formed, pour the mix into two greased ramekins.
  3. Bake at 180°C (356°F) for no more than 4 minutes. (Note: If you want the top to be cooked but the center to be gooey, check on your cakes after 3 minutes.)
  4. As soon as they’re ready, carefully remove them from the mold and turn them upside down on a plate.
  5. Enjoy as is or top with fruits and cream.
